Research & Consulting
A focus on food.
I’m a food producer, CIC & Charity director, seed saver, lecturer, coordinator, communicator, researcher, policy writer, consultant.
I have a PhD in Food Policy and a Master's in Environmental Science.
Through my work, I engage from the communities, across my county, and up to the bioregional level. My passion is working through a food system lens to connect the dots with food producers, civil society organisations and charities, private companies, academic institutions and various levels of the public sector for a food system that works better for everyone, for the long-haul.
I bring all of this experience and network into my teaching and consulting work.
My professional work is led by what aligns with my values: that’s building a resilient food system that supports and is supported by a healthy planet, healthy people and animals, biodiversity, air, water and energy systems.
My main areas of interest: Local, county and regional-level food strategy/policy, Community Food Movements & participatory governance, food systems resilience and relocalisation, including skills (seed saving, rural skills, horticulture), education and outreach.
